Bob Jefferies
Mandolin and Vocals
Bob Jefferies
Bob Jefferies was born into a musical family. His father played clarinet in a big band and his mother was a pianist. They met on the dance floor, and never stopped dancing. All six of their children grew up playing piano.
As a teenager Bob took up guitar, influenced by the Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin etc.
While in college he attended his first Bluegrass festival. He loved the blend of acoustic instruments, the virtuosity of the players and the musical camaraderie. He promptly got a mandolin, and soon he was playing in numerous bluegrass bands. He continued to delve into the myriad of mandolin music including Irish, Jazz, Gypsy, Swing, and Classical. He spent several years with the ‘Stone Soup String Band’ in Denver playing an eclectic mix of music.
Over the years Bob has been very fortunate to have lived in a variety of areas of the country, and to have traveled internationally, always soaking up music wherever he goes. Eight years ago, he ‘settled’ back home in Colorado in Loveland. He met Bill at a local guitar jam and is now thoroughly enjoying being a part of the ‘Wild Elderberries’.
When not playing music, Bob works as a custom woodworker to support his music habit.
